Taking the kids to the beach is always a blast! No matter if it’s swimming in the ocean, running around in the sand, or building sandcastles, the kids always have fun. But, sometimes the kids get tired of swimming and building sandcastles, which is why I gathered these fun beach activities for kids. So, if you’re looking for beach activities for family beach vacations, lake days, or just a fun summer outing, these activities are great ones to try!
Racetrack Beach Activity by Cultivating Brilliant Minds
We all know kids love racing toy cars. So, what kid wouldn’t want to race the cars on the beach? Kids can add water, build “mud pits” and race their cars across the sand. Throw a few cars and racetrack pieces in your bag before you leave and watch the magic unfold!
Ice Cream Sand Activity by Cultivating Brilliant Minds
This pretend play ice cream sand activity is one of my favorites! When kids get tired of swimming they can pretend to own an ice cream shop! They will look for shells for the toppings and serve sand ice cream cones to “customers.” All you need are these plastic ice cream cones and you’re good to go!
Beach Handprint Craft by Cultivating Brilliant Minds
Make a reminder of your time at the beach with this beach handprint craft! Kids will paint a canvas to look like the beach, then use glue and sand to create the handprints. This is a fun activity that can be prepped ahead (paint the canvas before you go) or you can do it at the beach (paint the canvas when you first get to the beach, let it dry in an area where sand won’t get all over it, and then add the handprints later.)

Beach Ball Question Game by One Simple Party
This beach ball question game is a great one to play at the beach, especially if you meet some new friends! You’ll be able to get to know everyone with fun questions, like where they want to travel and their favorite amusement park rides.
