What You’ll Need For This Watermelon Ice Sensory Play

  • Muffin tin
  • Water
  • Green food coloring
  • Red food coloring
  • Watermelon seeds
  • Tray or sensory bin
  • Droppers or pipettes
  • Small bowl of warm water
  • Spoon or scoop

Instructions For This Watermelon Ice Sensory Play

Fill the bottom of each muffin tin section with a thin layer of water dyed green. Freeze until solid.

Once frozen, mix red food coloring into water and pour it over the green layer. Add a few watermelon seeds.

Freeze again until completely solid.

Pop the watermelon ice pieces out of the muffin tin and place them into a tray or sensory bin.

Add droppers, a small bowl of warm water, and a spoon or scoop for play.
