Instructions For This Build A Sandcastle STEM Activity
1. Create the Castle Towers
Use scissors to cut small rectangular notches around the top of several toilet paper rolls. These cuts will make the rolls look like castle turrets.
2. Make a Seashell Flag
Glue a small seashell to the top of a stick or twig. Set aside and allow the glue to dry completely.
3. Build the Sandcastle
Challenge kids to stack the cardboard castle towers in different ways to create a sandcastle. They can experiment with wide bases, tall towers, and unique designs.
4. Add the Flag
Once the castle is complete, place the seashell flag on the castle.
5. Test and Redesign
Encourage kids to see how tall they can build before the structure tips over. If it falls, they can redesign and try again using a different arrangement.
