St. Patrick’s Day Gratitude Writing Craft FREEBIE

St. Patrick’s Day is usually associated with parades and, let’s call them “adult activities,” but in the elementary classroom, St. Patrick’s Day is a time to reflect on what we are grateful for. Even though most students do not know the history behind St. Patrick’s Day, that doesn’t mean that they cannot celebrate. And while, yes, St. Patrick’s Day is a religious Irish holiday and was created to celebrate Saint Patrick, I think that it also encompasses much more than that. Many common symbols of St. Patrick’s Day include leprechauns, coins, and rainbows with pots of gold. One might interpret this simply as celebrating money, but for many, it’s much deeper than that. St. Patrick’s Day is a day to reflect on what we are grateful for, whether that be our financial freedom, or, what I believe is much more important, our family, health, and friends. Thus, I believe that the symbols of St. Patrick’s Day have a lot less to do with money and finances, and much more to do with being grateful for all we have. This is why I created this fun St Patrick’s Day Craft! Young kids have the opportunity to celebrate the holiday while also focusing on the more important lesson – gratitude.

What’s Included in this FREE St. Patrick’s Day Craft?
In this free download, you’ll get everything you need to help your kids practice gratitude. Included are all the craft pieces (pot of gold, cloud, rainbow, and 4 gold coins). You can choose between the one-page craft or the larger craft. I’ve also made it easy to support your kids by offering different writing options – choose from writing on the gold coins, rainbow, or on the full-page writing sheet. I personally like to use the coins and rainbow options for younger kids as they tend to just write a few words, as opposed to using the full-page writing sheet that they won’t be able to fill. This sheet is better for older kids who can write complete sentences. Grab your Free St. Patrick’s Day Gratitude Craft below!
