This red, white, and blue patriotic charcuterie board is a fun patriotic dessert board for kids and adults. The star is made with red, white, and blue buttercream and you can add in all your favorite snacks! What You’ll Need For This Patriotic Charcuterie Board
How To Make A Buttercream Patriotic Charcuterie Board
Starting with your buttercream, split it in to 3 bowls. In one of the bowls add a little more than the other two.
The two bowls that have less buttercream frosting will be dyed with food gel color. In one bowl place a 3-5 drops of red food gel color and 3-5 drops of blue food gel color in the other. Mix the the gel into the frosting until it is completely combined. Do the same with the other.

Get your piping bags and piping tip. Place your piping tip in the bag and using small scissors cut a medium size hole that the piping tip can fit through half way.
Using the rest of your piping bags place each color in its own piping bag and secure the open end.

Place the bags to the side for later.
Grab your strawberries, wash them, dry them and then slice them to prepare them for your board.
Place your clean board on a flat surface and grab all of your of piping bags to start putting together your board.
Decorating the Board
Starting with the white buttercream, squeeze out a medium size dot of frosting close to the top of the board. This will be the top of your star.
Pipe more dots below the first one, depending on how big you want your star. I did added 5 white dots. Next, pipe dots going across. These will be the sides of the star and then pipe two lines of dot for the bottom of your star.
Now, that you have your star shape base, start to fill in the star with more dots. fill in each area but the top left side of the star empty.

Now pipe medium size dots of blue icing in the empty side of the star to complete the shape.

Pipe red lines across the white frosting to create the flag effect. Be creative and pipe as many or as little stripes as you like.

Place the Chex Mix in the crevices of the star and around the points.
Put popcorn around the Chex mix and then place the short bread cookies on each corner of the board.
Put the strawberry slices in between each cookie.
Lastly, place your chocolate bars randomly throughout the board and add your sprinkle blend to the blue portion of the star.
Now you’re ready to serve and enjoy your beautiful patriotic charcuterie board!
Important Recipe Notes

Please use new or food only scissors to cut your piping bags food safety.
To keep your strawberries looking fresh while your board sits out, spray or soak them in a little bit of lemon juice after slice them. Make sure they are dry before placing them on the board.
Depending on how much everyone eats, this board can serve up to 10 people.

Instructions

Put your piping bag with white buttercream into the piping bag with that contains the piping tip. Pull the tip of the buttercream frosting bag through the piping tip and a cut the bag where the piping tip begins.
Repeat this step for each bag of frosting, then place the bags to the side.

Now that the white portion is complete, take the white frosting piping bag out of the bag with the piping tip. Wipe the inside of the tip out with a clean sheet of paper towel and now place the piping bag with blue icing in it into the bag with the piping tip.
Squeeze the piping bag and let out a little bit of the blue frosting on a sheet of paper towel so you can make sure all the white frosting is gone.
Now pipe medium size dots of blue icing in the empty side of the star to complete the shape.
Once the star shape is complete, take the blue bag of frosting out and repeat the previous steps above to switch to the red frosting.
Pipe red lines across the white frosting to create the flag effect. Be creative and pipe as many or as little stripes as you like.
Now its time to add your snacks.
