Did you know they have been floating in the ocean for over 500 million years? They’ve been on this Earth way before dinosaurs were. They truly are fascinating creatures and you should do you own jellyfish research with your kiddos! I wanted a cute craft to accompany out learning, so we made this coffee filter jellyfish craft and they turned out so cute. You can even hang them up on your windows for decor!

Important Notes For This Ocean Animal Craft

Use washable markers to ensure the colors will mix when the coffee filter is sprayed with water. This is what creates that beautiful tie dye effect.
Lightly spray the coffee filter with water. Do not saturate it, only add enough water to get the colors to mix.
Let the coffee filter dry before cutting it in half and adding the googly eyes and streamer. It’s very easy to accidentally put a hole in or rip a wet coffee filter, so ensure it’s completely dry before moving on.
