How To Make Celery Bug Snacks

Slice your apples into circles and place them into a bowl of lime juice to prevent them from browning.

Wash and cut the celery into smaller pieces and fill some of the celery hearts with peanut butter for the fruits and others with cream cheese for the tomatoes.

Celery stick topped with peanut butter on a white plate, with a bowl of red grapes blurred in the background.

Decorate each celery piece with a different bug- use grapes or blueberries for caterpillars, pretzel twists for butterflies, and sliced apples for snails. For the cream cheese celery, add tomatoes to make caterpillars.

Add candy eyes for decoration, optional.

Important Recipe Notes

Playful fruit-topped pastry skewers on a white plate; green bases topped with blueberries, an apple slice, and candy eyes for a fun look.

To keep your celery bugs from falling over, assemble them in the same place you plan to serve, they fall over easily when moved. You can use a toothpick on each side to help stabilize. You can also trim a thin slice off of the rounded bottom of each celery stalk.

Choose any fruits or veggies that your kids enjoy! If you want to add any melons, use a melon baller to make them circular so they sit on the celery.
