It shows that even as years went by, many people still didnโ€™t agree with abolishing slavery and attacked many African American families. The familyโ€™s bravery, courage, and love are so powerful. This book is so sweet and shows the beautiful relationship between a mom and her child. It celebrates the bond they have and that they donโ€™t need any fancy gifts- they just need each other. This is the perfect book to gift to moms and grandmas and it would be a great gift from them as well!
