This watermelon lemonade is a refreshing recipe that you’ll be making over and over again all summer long! Made with three simple ingredients, this watermelon lemonade is perfect for summer parties, as a poolside snack, or as an ice cold drink for when the kids take a break from the sun.

Watermelon lemonade is a fun twist on regular lemonade, including the sweet flavor of watermelon. Kids will drink the entire pitcher of lemonade because it’s that good! When you know your kids will be out in the sun all day, make a batch of this watermelon lemonade ahead of time, so you can just pull it out of the fridge and serve it!

What You’ll Need For This Watermelon Lemonade

  • 1 watermelon
  • 4–6 lemons
  • Simple syrup, to taste
  • Water
  • Ice
  • Pitcher

How To Make Watermelon Lemonade

Slice the watermelon in half and cut it into chunks. You can choose to remove the seeds now if preferred. You will strain the blended watermelon later, which can keep the seeds out of the lemonade.

Add the watermelon chunks to a blender and blend until smooth.

Strain the blended watermelon through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a large pitcher to remove the pulp.

Juice 4–6 lemons and pour the lemon juice into the pitcher.

Add simple syrup to sweeten the lemonade to your liking.

Pour in water until the pitcher is about 75-80% full. Stir well until combined.

Add plenty of ice until the pitcher is full and serve cold.

Garnish with lemon slices or small watermelon wedges if desired.

    • Start with less simple syrup, then add more until it tastes just right.
    • If you like a stronger lemon flavor, use all 6 lemons.
    • Add sparkling water instead of regular water for a fizzy twist.
    • Store leftovers in the refrigerator and stir before serving since the juice may naturally separate.
    • If wanted, you can skip the simple syrup and add in sugar to taste.
