What You’ll Need For This Watermelon Jack-O-Lantern Craft

How To Make A Watermelon Jack-O-Lantern Paper Plate Craft

Squeeze dark green and light green paint onto a paper plate. Or, you can use another paper plate or art palette to hold the paint.

Use a paintbrush to spread the colors across the plate, blending them together to create a watermelon rind effect. Alternatively, you can paint the paper plate light green, then add in the dark green details when it’s dry.

Set the plate aside and allow the paint to dry completely.

Cut two triangle eyes, a triangle nose, and a jack-o’-lantern mouth from red construction paper.

    Use glow-in-the-dark paint to resemble a jack-o-lantern with a candle inside. You can also use a clear coat of glow-in-the-dark paint on the jack-o-lantern face to make it look similar to a real one!

    No construction paper? Use red or pink paint to paint the face on the paper plate. Or, draw it on with a pencil and cut it out! An adult may need to help cut the face out, if you choose this version.
