Since this Easter craft for kids is so quick, I love to pair it with this cotton ball bunny craft or this Easter egg garden craft because they are just as easy and low-mess.

What You’ll Need For This Bunny Handprint Craft

  • Colored cardstock or construction paper
  • Glue
  • Marker (I used purple on the bunnies, but you can choose any color)
  • Sharpie (or a pencil to trace the hand)
  • Optional: googly eyes

Step-By-Step Instructions For This Easy Easter Craft

1. Trace the hand
Trace the child’s hand on colored paper with fingers together and thumb slightly out. Cut the handprint out and cut across the middle finger – this will be the top of the bunny’s head.

2. Add facial features
Use the marker to add inner ears and a nose. A contrasting color works great here, but you can use any color you’d like.

Important Notes and Variations For This Bunny Handprint Craft

    • Cutting it out: First, cut out the entire handprint. Then, cut across the bottom of the middle finger. Since this will be the bunny’s head, try not to cut straight across, but add a hump instead.
    • Folding the arms: Fold the thumb and pinky finger of the handprint. Feel free to fold them in different spots – you can fold from the knuckle or the bottom of the finger.
    • Make them unique: Make the bunnies unique by drawing on different faces, using different colors, and by using different sized googly eyes.

Bunny Books To Read After Making Your Bunny Handprint Craft

One of my favorite Easter books is The Great Eggscape by Jory John. It’s such a fun and exciting story & kids always love it! I also love the National Geographic book Hop, Bunny! I share a lot of fiction kids books, but it’s so important for kids to read nonfiction books as well. Hop, Bunny! is a great pre-reader for kids to learn all about bunnies. Or, check out some of these popular Easter and bunny books:
