Mari and the Great Market Swap follows Mari as she Mari and the Great Market Swap follows Mari as she helps Granny sell guavas at the market. when a sugarcane truck flips over and blocks the road, none of the vendors can sell their produce to buy what they need for their families. Mari tried everything - running up to the main road to sell and even giving people a good bargain. But, when Mari and her friend Wendy swap their guava and cassava, Mari figures out a way to help the community get everything they need.

This is such an amazing book showcasing the power of community. What began as a market turned into a market swap, the sellers coming together and bartering to get what they need. The book transports you to a market in Barbados, filled with delicious produce and sweets. Kids can learn about new foods and culture, and why vendors at markets in Barbados are needed for making jobs available and ensuring food security.

Many thanks to @pubspotlight for sending me a copy of the book🩵

Let’s Go To The Market is a bilingual Hindi-Englis Let’s Go To The Market is a bilingual Hindi-English book that follows Maa and Meena going to the mangal bazaar - a traditional Tuesday market in India. Kids are introduced to fruits, vegetables, spices and traditional cuisine.

I love that this bilingual book showcases the traditional Tuesday street market while teaching kids all about the food sold there. The back of the book includes Look, Learn, and Say pages that include pictures with the English and Hindi words. Kids will love learning about the street market while hearing and practicing a new language! It’s truly a beautiful book that is perfect for classrooms, libraries, and homes!

Many thanks to @pubspotlight for sending me a copy of the book! 💚

Carrot Cake and Pufftail aren’t ordinary bunnies… Carrot Cake and Pufftail aren’t ordinary bunnies… they are warrior bunnies. Nobody dared mess with any of the animals with the bunnies around. That is, until Renard Fox moved in. He chased chipmunks, woke up owl, and threw acorns at squirrels. Renard Fox comes up with many schemes, but the bunnies foil all his plans. When the bunnies learn that Renard wasn’t hurting other animals, he was just trying to make friends, they plan a surprise for him.

Attack bunnies is a super fun story that begins as a fun superhero-gets-the-villain story but later turns into a kind and beautiful story about not judging others by first impressions! It’s the perfect book to teach kids about compassion and being a kind friend to all. I really loved that it’s a twist on the typical “big, bag wolf” trope and then into a story with a message all kids should learn.

Many thanks to @pubspotlight for sending me a copy of the book 🐰

Where They Gather is a lyrical story that celebrat Where They Gather is a lyrical story that celebrates an African American family’s strength and resilience. When freedom rang and slavery was abolished, new dreams could be grown. The family builds a house and settles in. Here, they hoped, laughed, and married until they were attacked. They weep and rebuild, braving the world together.

This is such a beautiful book that follows generations of the family through the years after slavery was abolished. It shows that even as years went by, many people still didn’t agree with abolishing slavery and attacked many African American families. The family’s bravery, courage, and love are so powerful. This book shows the hardships that the family went through and how they kept on living.

Many thanks to @simonkids for sending me a copy of the book! 💚
