This Star Wars baby Yoda sun catcher is an easy May the Fourth Be With You craft that kids will love. Celebrate May 4th with this adorable Star Wars craft, that uses construction paper, tissue paper, and contact paper to create a beautiful sun catcher.
This baby Yoda craft is perfect if you’re looking for an easy Star Wars party activity for toddlers, preschoolers, and older kids. Yoda is a personal favorite of mine and my kids love to make this sun catcher for Star Wars Day every year. This Star Wars art project perfectly captures Yoda’s big eyes, tiny hands, and irresistible cuteness.

5. Then, press the black silhouette, eyes, and mouth onto the sticky surface.

6. Cut light green and pink tissue paper into small squares.

7. Stick the green tissue paper pieces inside the center of the silhouette, filling it in like a patchwork mosaic.

8. Add pink tissue paper squares inside the ear sections.

9. (Optional) Seal with another piece of contact paper on top.
10. Trim around the edges and hang in a sunny window.
Important Notes for This Star Wars Craft

- Draw the baby Yoda head onto black construction paper before cutting it out. This will ensure the Grogu head has the right shape.
- Experiment with smile positions. Kids can give Yoda a big smile or keep his mouth as a straight line.
- Seal with contact paper. Although this part is optional, I always suggest sealing it with another piece of contact paper. This will allow your baby Yoda sun catcher to be reused year after year.
Star Wars Books To Read
My favorite Star Wars book to read is A Jedi You Will Be by Preeti Chhibber. It has beautifully whimsical illustrations and follows Luke learning how to use the force. Plus, check out some of my other favorites:
