Free Printable Board Games to Practice Math Skills This Spring

Spring has sprung here in Florida and I am diving into creating all things flowers, insects, rainbows, and weather! For me, spring is a great time to reassess children on what they have learned through the year. With the end of the school year upon us, it is crucial that children have mastered the topics for their grade level. Essentially, this time of year is the time to buckle down and ensure children are meeting grade level standards before summer (and possibly the “summer slide”). To help reinforce math skills, such as number sense, number identification, addition, and subtraction, I’m sharing some of my best-selling spring board games with you. These games have a bee theme and are the perfect no-prep activity that you can use for centers, small groups, intervention, or when you’re in a pinch!

Practice number identification and number sense in numbers 1-6 with this fun Spin to Win Spring printable board game! Use a paperclip and pencil as a homemade spinner, or buy a pack of spinners online! After spinning, the children will cover one matching number on the board. If there are no more matching numbers, they do not put anything on the board. The game is over when all numbers are covered. Whoever covered more numbers wins!

This game also comes with numbers 5-10. This game works the same way – however, we have a new addition to this one! In the beehive spots, children will count how many bees are near the hive. This adds an extra element of counting as some children may be able to easily tell how many dots are on the dice, especially if they do number talks in school!

If you don’t have the materials to make a spinner, you can use this version of the board game that uses a die! After rolling the die, children will cover one matching number on the board.

If children need more advanced practice, they can use the addition board game! After rolling two dice, they will add up the numbers and cover the matching number on the board! I personally like to use both versions of this game because children can practice the same skills in a different way! This board also comes with a subtraction version!

I love using board games for math practice because they are a lot of fun! Plus, children won’t even realize they are learning – they will be having too much fun to notice! Click on the link below to get these free board games now!

Happy learning!
