The Best Chick Handprint Craft
This chick handprint craft is an easy spring craft for kids that uses simple materials you already own to create a beautiful spring keepsake craft. Save this handprint craft in a memory book, or tie it with ribbon to create a spring garland. This easy craft for kids is perfect for spring crafts, Easter activities, and rainy days.

The beautiful chick handprint craft makes the perfect spring classroom craft, allowing kids to build fine motor skills and explore sensory inputs. It is easy to create and turns into a stunning wall display, as each child creates a unique chick with varying emotions. Kids can personalize the chicks even further, adding their name and the date on the back of this keepsake craft.
I love pairing this spring craft with this bunny handprint craft because if we are getting out the paint, we might as well go all in and create an adorable bunny for Easter, too! I usually paint one hand yellow for the chick and the other hand the color of their bunny so they can stamp both of them at once.
In addition to crafts, I also love to bake up a sweet snack to munch on while we wait for the paint to dry. These chewy Easter cookies are a hit in my house and we bake them every year. I’ve also started making these cinnamon and sugar bunny twists and they are seriously the best dessert ever. Your mouth will be watering as soon as you smell the cinnamon and sugar cooking in the oven and the entire pan will be gone in a snap!
How To Make This Chick Handprint Craft

- Paper (I used a thicker cardstock for durability)
- Yellow paint
- Paint Brush
- Black Marker
- Orange Marker
- Scissors
Step-By-Step Instructions To Make This Easy Craft For Kids
1. Using the paintbrush, paint your hand yellow, making sure to completely cover your entire hand.

2. Stamp your hand down on the paper, leaving your fingers relaxed. There’s no need to spread your fingers wide or keep them close together – a relaxed hand works best.
3. Wash the paint off your hand and let the handprint dry completely before moving on to step 4.
4. Once the handprint is dry, cut it out, leaving a small edge of white paper around it.

5. Use the orange marker to draw a chick beak in the center of the handprint, where there is no paint. Add two legs with feet at the bottom.

6. Finally, use the black marker to draw two eyes above the beak.
Important Notes For This Keepsake Craft
Keep it fun. This is meant to be an easy craft for kids, but I know that using paint can be stressful for some parents. Try placing a towel and bowl of water or wet wipes next to you as you do this craft. This way, you can immediately wipe the paint from your child’s hand before they have time to put handprints all over the house.
Drying time. Drying time varies based on your climate and humidity. Ensure the handprint is completely dry before moving on, or else you’ll smear paint all over your beautiful creation!
Personalize it. Add your child’s name and the date on the back to always remember when they created this. Kids grow up so fast, so it’s nice to have their little handprint suck in time forever.
