Make learning the letter E fun with this E is for Elephant Handprint craft for preschoolers. It’s an easy alphabet craft that builds literacy skills.
● White cardstock or notebook (A spiral notebook or sketchpad is the perfect way to turn this into a keepsake collection for alphabet crafts.)
● Gray or light brown washable paint
● Paintbrush
● Black marker
● Green marker
1. a small amount of gray paint onto the child’s hand
2. Use a paintbrush or sponge to cover the child’s palm and fingers. Make sure the paint reaches the fingertips for a full print.
3. Press the painted hand firmly onto a sheet of white cardstock. Position the hand so the thumb points to the side, creating the elephant’s trunk and the fingers point down to form the legs.
4. Carefully lift the hand and allow the paint to dry completely.
5. Use a black marker to draw an eye, large elephant ear, tail, and any additional details.
6. Write “E is for Elephant” at the top of the page.
7. Add grass, trees, or other background elements using markers.
8. Display the finished artwork as part of an alphabet wall, animal unit, or learning portfolio.
