These red, white, and blue ice cream cones are the most festive patriotic treat for kids! Easy to make and absolutely delicious for any patriotic celebration.

Ingredients

     Ice cream cones

     Blue candy melts

     Vanilla ice cream

     Red sanding sugar

Instructions

1.   Melt the blue candy melts
Place the candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in short intervals (about 20–30 seconds), stirring in between until smooth and fully melted.

2.   Dip the cones
Hold each cone and dip the top edge into the melted blue candy. Gently twist as you lift it out so you get that drippy, dipped look.

3.   Let them harden
Set the cones upright (a cup works great for this) and allow the coating to fully harden.

4.   Add the ice cream
Scoop vanilla ice cream into each cone, piling it high for that classic look.

5.   Sprinkle the red sugar
Finish with a generous sprinkle of red sanding sugar over the top.
