Materials

     Clear contact paper

     Green tissue paper

     Black construction paper

     Scissors

Instructions

1.   Cut a large watermelon slice shape from black construction paper. Then cut out the center, leaving a thick black border for the rind.

2.   Stick the watermelon outline onto a piece of contact paper with the sticky side facing up.

3.   Tear small pieces of black construction paper for the watermelon seeds and stick them inside the outline.

4.   Tear bits of green and pink tissue paper. Add the green tissue paper around the edge for the rind and the pink tissue paper in the center. Overlap the pieces slightly to create a colorful stained-glass effect.

5.   Place another piece of contact paper on top to seal the suncatcher.

6.   Trim around the watermelon shape to cut off contact paper and hang it in a sunny window to let the colors shine through.
