Tansy has a cloud. It’s suck over her head and no Tansy has a cloud. It’s suck over her head and no matter what she does, she can’t get rid of it. She tries to outride it on her bike. Her dad tries to pull it off. But, the cloud remained.

Her cloud grows bigger and begins to rain on her. One day at school, Rue shows Tansy how her cloud made dandelions grow and the worms come out. They decide to build a garden to use the rain cloud for something good. Just when Tansy begins to think her cloud isn’t a pest after all, the wind whooshes a hole in the middle of the cloud for the sun to shine through.

This book is a great example of problems that you can’t solve. There was no way for Tansy to get rid of her cloud, so she learned to use it for good. No matter what we are going through, we can choose how to react to situations we have no control over.

When Louie sees a shark at the beach, he refuses t When Louie sees a shark at the beach, he refuses to go back in the water. From then on, swimming pools made him jumpy, backyard pools gave him the heebie-jeebies, and bubble bather made him suspicious.

Louie’s grandpa takes him to the library to learn about sharks. Louie is glad that shark attacks are rare, but he was still scared. A shark can bite him while riding his bike or trick him with a disguise. 🥸

Grandpa shares a story from when he was little and afraid that a bear would get him. Grandpa’s story gives Louie the courage to try again.

This is such a beautiful story about overcoming fears. You can truly feel the love Grandpa had for Louie - he helped Louie through this tough time and supported him in overcoming his fear of sharks. It’s the perfect book to comfort and support kids who are struggling with their fears.

Sunrise Sail follows a boy and his grandpa going s Sunrise Sail follows a boy and his grandpa going sailing early in the morning. It’s a particularly interesting book because every word of the story starts with the letter S.

After the boy and his grandfather set sail, they find a stowaway - a dog! The dog joins them on their sail before they dock and have a picnic for lunch. A sudden squall forces them to take shelter and when it’s over, the boat is gone! How will they get their sailboat back?

This was such a fun story! I loved that every word started with S - it makes it more creative and unique! This whole book is focused on serendipity- when something that wasn’t supposed to happen turns out to be a good thing. It’s a great read aloud & perfect for teaching about alliteration. It’s also a great book for grandparents to share with grandkids.
