This aluminum foil river water play activity is the most fun summer sensory activity for kids! Easy to set up and perfect for toddlers and preschoolers.

Materials

     Aluminum foil

     Water

     Pool noodles

     Toothpicks

     Small pieces of paper or foam

     Small rubber ducks, frogs, or floating toys

     Glass gems or decorative stones (optional)

Instructions

1.   Unroll a long sheet of aluminum foil and shape the edges upward to create a river channel.

2.   Place the foil in the backyard on an even surface.

3.   Fill the river with water.

4.   Make simple boats by pushing a toothpick through a pool noodle slice and adding a small paper flag.

5.   Add floating toys, rubber ducks, frogs, or glass gems to decorate the river.

6.   Let kids float the boats downstream, race different objects, or create adventures for their river animals.

7.   Experiment with adding more water or creating obstacles for the boats to navigate.
