This Mo Willems inspired pigeon handprint craft is a fun and easy activity for kids! Perfect for pairing with Pigeon books and classroom read alouds.
● Light blue paint
● White paint
● Paintbrush
● Yellow construction paper
● Orange and black marker
1. Paint the child’s hand light blue.
2. Turn the hand sideways and stamp it onto a piece of paper. The palm will make the pigeon’s body, the fingers will become the tail feathers, and the thumb will form the neck.
3. Let the paint dry.
4. Paint a round blue head at the end of the thumb.
5. Add white details by painting a small eye and a white stripe around the neck.
6. Draw a small orange triangle beak.
7. Use a marker to add the finishing details: Draw the legs and feet, outline the white neck stripe, and add the pupil to the eye.
