Materials
- White cardstock or notebook
- Washable paint in the colors of choice
- Paintbrush
- Markers
- Baby wipes or paper towels
Instructions
- Paint the entire hand with washable paint in the color of choice, covering the palm, thumb, and fingers with an even coat.
- Turn the hand sideways so the fingers point toward the side of the paper. Press the painted hand firmly onto a sheet of paper, then carefully lift the hand straight up to leave a clean handprint. Allow the paint to dry completely.
- Near the lower portion of the page, draw a large circle with a marker to create the yo-yo. Trace around the top of a coffee pod to keep things even.
- Draw a smaller circle inside the first circle to create the center of the yo-yo. Trace around the bottom of the coffee pod for the smaller circle.
- Color both circles using bright marker colors, making the smaller center circle a contrasting shade for added detail.
- Draw a straight line from one of the fingers down to the yo-yo to create the string.
- Write “Y is for Yo-Yo” across the page with a black marker to complete the alphabet craft.
