Materials
- White cardstock or notebook
- Green washable paint
- Red washable paint
- Paintbrush
- Black marker
- Baby wipes or paper towels
Instructions
- Paint the bottom portion of the hand, including the lower palm near the wrist, with green washable paint to create the watermelon rind.
- Paint the rest of the palm, thumb, fingers, and fingertips with bright red washable paint to represent the juicy fruit inside.
- Press the painted hand firmly onto a sheet of the paper with the fingers pointing upward. Carefully lift the hand straight up to leave a clean handprint. Allow the paint to dry completely.
- Use a black marker to draw small teardrop-shaped watermelon seeds across the red portion of the handprint. Scatter the seeds naturally over the palm, fingers, and thumb.
- Write “W is for Watermelon” across the top of the page with a black marker to complete the alphabet craft.
