Make a W is for Watermelon Handprint with red and green paint! This Letter W handprint craft turns little hands into a colorful watermelon slice.

Materials

  • White cardstock or notebook
  • Green washable paint
  • Red washable paint
  • Paintbrush
  • Black marker
  • Baby wipes or paper towels

Instructions

  1. Paint the bottom portion of the hand, including the lower palm near the wrist, with green washable paint to create the watermelon rind.
  2. Paint the rest of the palm, thumb, fingers, and fingertips with bright red washable paint to represent the juicy fruit inside.
  3. Press the painted hand firmly onto a sheet of the paper with the fingers pointing upward. Carefully lift the hand straight up to leave a clean handprint. Allow the paint to dry completely.
  4. Use a black marker to draw small teardrop-shaped watermelon seeds across the red portion of the handprint. Scatter the seeds naturally over the palm, fingers, and thumb.
  5. Write “W is for Watermelon” across the top of the page with a black marker to complete the alphabet craft.
