Materials
- White cardstock or notebook
- Pink washable paint
- Paintbrush
- Markers
- Baby wipes or paper towels
Instructions
- Paint the entire hand with pink washable paint, covering the palm, thumb, fingers, and fingertips with an even coat.
- Position the hand so the fingers point downward and the thumb points toward the left side of the paper. Press the hand firmly onto the paper, then carefully lift straight up to leave a clean handprint. Allow the paint to dry completely.
- Draw a long yellow unicorn horn extending from the top of the thumb.
- Draw a smiling face on the thumb using a black marker. Add a small eye, nostril, a curved smile, and two tiny ears near the top of the head.
- Use purple and blue markers to draw a flowing mane along the top edge of the handprint, beginning behind the horn and continuing across the back.
- Draw a colorful tail extending from the opposite side of the handprint using purple and blue markers. Add several curved strands to give the tail movement.
- Color the tips of each finger blue to create the unicorn’s hooves.
- Draw small yellow sparkles around the page to give the artwork a magical finishing touch.
- Write “U is for Unicorn” across the page with a black marker.
