Make a G is for Giraffe handprint craft with kids! This easy letter G alphabet craft builds fine motor skills, creativity, and animal learning fun.
● White cardstock or notebook (A spiral notebook or sketchpad is the perfect way to turn this into a keepsake collection for alphabet crafts.)
● Yellow paint
● Paintbrush or sponge brush
● Black marker
● Brown marker
Cover the child’s palm and fingers with yellow paint. Make sure the paint is spread evenly across the hand for a clear print.
Step 2: Create the HandprintPress the painted hand firmly onto white paper. Position the hand so the thumb extends outward. The palm will form the giraffe’s body, the fingers will make the legs, and the thumb is the tail.
Allow the paint to dry completely.
Step 3: Add the Giraffe’s Neck and HeadUsing yellow paint, extend upward from the top of the handprint to create a long neck. Paint a giraffe head at the top of the neck.
Step 4: Add Spots and DetailsUse a brown marker to add giraffe spots across the body and neck. Draw small brown hooves on the ends of each finger and tail details at the tip of the thumb. Draw the eyes and nostrils. Draw any additional facial details desired.
