How To Make DIY Maracas

These DIY Maracas are an easy craft for Cinco de Mayo. Made with plastic spoons, plastic eggs, and rice, this easy craft will keeps busy for hours!

Materials

     Plastic Easter eggs

     Dry rice

     2 plastic spoons

     Tape (clear or washi)


Instructions

1.   Choose your egg
Pick a plastic egg that doesn’t have any holes so your rice stays safely tucked inside.

2.   Fill it up
Open the egg and pour in a small amount of dry rice. Don’t overfill it, you want room for that satisfying shake.

3.   Snap it shut
Close the egg tightly until it clicks. Give it a little test shake to hear the sound.

4.   Add the spoons
Place one spoon on each side of the egg.

5.   Tape it together
Wrap tape around the top of the spoons and again around the handles to secure everything snugly.

6.   Decorate your way
Use clear tape to let the bright egg colors shine, or switch to washi tape for patterns and personality.
