This construction paper American flag craft is a fun and easy patriotic activity for kids! Build fine motor skills, scissor practice, and patriotic pride.

Materials

·      Blue Pipe Cleaner

·      Red Construction Paper

·      Blue Construction Paper

·      White Construction Paper (or printer paper)

·      Scissors

·      Glue

Instructions

1.        Cut ¼ the blue construction paper out. You can choose to cut it in half, then cut the half in half again.

2.        Repeat with the red and white construction paper. Then, cut them into ½” strips. Cut a few strips shorter than the others to leave room for the stars.

3.        Starting with a short red strip, glue it to the top of the blue construction paper. Then, alternate white and red until you have 2 red and 2 white strips.

4.        Glue the long strips on, starting with red and continuing down until the entire piece blue construction paper is covered.

5.        Cut stars out of the white construction paper.

6.        Glue the stars on the upper left corner.

7.        Glue the pipe cleaner on the back of the flag.

8.        Let dry before handling.
