Materials

     Canvas or thick paper

     Black paint

     Red, white, and blue paint

     Water

     Squirt guns

Cups or bowls for mixing paint

     Drop cloth or old sheet

Instructions

1.   Cover your work area with a drop cloth or old sheet.

2.   Paint the canvas black and let it dry completely. This helps the colors pop like fireworks against the night sky.

3.   In separate cups, mix each paint color with a little water until it is thin enough to spray through the squirt gun.

4.   Pour the watered-down paint into the squirt guns.

5.   Carefully squirt paint onto the black canvas to create firework bursts, splatters, and streaks.

6.   Layer different colors to make your fireworks look extra bright and energetic.
