E is for Earth is a creative letter E activity for preschoolers that builds alphabet recognition, fine motor skills, and connects naturally to Earth Day learning.
● Blue construction paper
● Green construction paper
● Pencil
● Scissors
● Glue stick or school glue
Draw a large uppercase E on blue construction paper. Make it thick enough to hold several pieces of “land.” Cut out the letter carefully.
The blue E represents oceans stretching across the globe.
Step 2: Create the Green LandsUsing green construction paper, cut out abstract shapes to represent continents. Realistic outlines are not required. Encourage creativity. Lands can be round, jagged, long, tiny, curved, or layered.
Children can invent new continents or recreate familiar ones. The goal is exploration through design.
Step 3: Glue the Lands to the EArrange the green shapes on the blue E, shuffling them around to experiment with their placement. Once satisfied, glue each land piece down securely. Trim any overhanging land pieces after gluing.
The result is a vibrant earth craft that doubles as an eye-catching alphabet display.
