  • Total Time15
  • Yield1 Letter C Cat Craft 1x

Materials

     Black construction paper

     Pink construction paper

     White construction paper

     Scissors

     Glue stick or school glue

Instructions

Step 1: Cut the Letter C

Start by cutting a large letter C out of black construction paper. This is the cat’s base. Make it big and bold so there is plenty of room for the facial features.

Step 2: Create the Cat’s Ears

Cut two black triangles for the ears. These should be medium-sized so they sit nicely on top of the letter C.

Next, cut two slightly smaller pink triangles for the inside of the ears. Glue each one onto a black triangle to give the ears contrast.

Set these aside while working on the face.

Step 3: Make the Nose

Cut a small pink circle for the nose. This tiny detail lends the cat a friendly expression.

Step 4: Cut the Eyes

Cut two white circles for the eyes, and two smaller black circles for the pupils.

Glue the black pupils onto the white eyes. Children can experiment with placement. Positioning the pupils slightly off-center can make the cat look curious, surprised, or playful.

Step 5: Create the Whiskers

Cut two long, thin, white rectangles. These will be the whiskers. It’s better to go a little long with these, as they can always be trimmed back once they are glued into place.

Glue the two white rectangles onto the upper part of the letter C in a crisscross pattern. The intersecting lines give the cat a whimsical look while keeping the steps simple, to go with the letter C craft for preschoolers.

Step 6: Assemble the Cat

Now it is time to bring everything together.

Glue the eyes near the top of the letter C.

Glue the crisscrossed whiskers below the eyes.

Glue the pink circle nose right in the center where the whiskers meet.

Finally, glue the ears at the top of the C so they poke upward, just like an actual kitty.

Once the glue dries, it has officially become a cat. The letter C is for Cat paper craft is ready for learning and fun.
