Materials

  • Red construction paper
  • Green construction paper
  • Brown construction paper
  • Black marker
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick

Instructions

Step 1: Cut the Letter A

Draw a large uppercase letter A on red construction paper. Cut carefully along the lines.

For younger children, pre-drawing the letter can simplify the process while still allowing cutting practice.

Step 2: Create the Stem

Draw a small rectangle with a slight curve on brown construction paper to represent the apple stem. Cut it out.

Step 3: Cut the Leaf

On green construction paper, draw a simple oval leaf with a small point at one end. Cut it out.

Step 4: Assemble the Apple

Glue the brown stem to the top center of the letter A. Attach the green leaf next to the stem.

Step 5: Add Apple Seeds

Using a black marker, draw small “seeds” along the middle horizontal line of the letter A. This detail reinforces the apple theme and highlights the structure of the uppercase letter.

Step 6: Mount (Optional)

Glue the finished apple letter onto white cardstock for display or bulletin board use.
