1.   Lay out a large sheet of paper to protect your workspace.

2.   Place small drops of different colored paint onto the paper.

3.   Give each color its own paintbrush to keep colors bright and clean.

4.   Set the wooden hammer in the middle of the workspace.

5.   Let kids dip their brushes into the paint and begin decorating the hammer however they like.

6.   Encourage them to cover the handle and sides, leaving the metal part unpainted.

7.   Set the hammer aside to dry completely.
