Make a heartfelt handprint Christmas tree card with kids! Perfect for creating a meaningful holiday keepsake for family and friends.

Materials

  • White paper 8.5×11
  • Yellow construction paper
  • Brown construction paper (optional)
  • Green paint
  • Paint brush
  • Christmas colored pom poms
  • Christmas pipe cleaners
  • Star cutter, optional

Instructions

  1. Fold the white paper in half to make a card.
  2. Paint the child’s hand green.
  3. Stamp the child’s hand on the front of the card. To ensure a complete handprint, press down firmly on the child’s hand and fingers.
  4. Let the handprint dry completely before decorating.
  5. Use the Christmas-themed pipe cleaners to create garland on the handprint tree. Glue the pipe cleaner to the tree.
  6. Glue Christmas-themed pom poms around the handprint tree, leaving a spot at the top of the handprint (middle finger) for the star.
  7. Use the star cutter to cut a star out of the yellow construction paper. If you are not using a cutter, cut a star by hand.
  8. Glue the star to the top of the handprint tree.
  9. If wanted, cut a small tree trunk from the brown construction paper and glue it at the bottom of the handprint tree.
