Materials
- White paper 8.5×11
- Yellow construction paper
- Brown construction paper (optional)
- Green paint
- Paint brush
- Christmas colored pom poms
- Christmas pipe cleaners
- Star cutter, optional
Instructions
- Fold the white paper in half to make a card.
- Paint the child’s hand green.
- Stamp the child’s hand on the front of the card. To ensure a complete handprint, press down firmly on the child’s hand and fingers.
- Let the handprint dry completely before decorating.
- Use the Christmas-themed pipe cleaners to create garland on the handprint tree. Glue the pipe cleaner to the tree.
- Glue Christmas-themed pom poms around the handprint tree, leaving a spot at the top of the handprint (middle finger) for the star.
- Use the star cutter to cut a star out of the yellow construction paper. If you are not using a cutter, cut a star by hand.
- Glue the star to the top of the handprint tree.
- If wanted, cut a small tree trunk from the brown construction paper and glue it at the bottom of the handprint tree.
