Materials

Water table or large sensory bin

     Water

     Toy dinosaurs

     Sticks and small logs

     Moss

     Leaves and vines

     Bark pieces

     Small rocks or pebbles

     Dirt (optional)

Instructions

Step 1: Fill the Water Table

Add a shallow layer of water to the water table. For a swampy look, stir in a small amount of dirt or mud to create murky water.

Step 2: Create the Swamp Habitat

Arrange logs, sticks, bark, moss, and leaves throughout the water table. Build little islands, marshy areas, and pathways for the dinosaurs to explore.

Step 3: Add the Dinosaurs

Place toy dinosaurs around the swamp. Set some on logs, hide others among the moss, and let a few splash through the water.

Step 4: Encourage Imaginative Play

Invite children to move the dinosaurs through the swamp, create stories, build habitats, and discover hidden areas throughout the sensory setup.
